bATH DETOX: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

What’s more relaxing than a hot bath?

A hot detox bath that helps cleanse your body!

Why do I need a bath detox?

In this day and age, our bodies come into contact with toxins now more than ever. Which is why it is so important to detox regularly if you are able to.

Toxins are everywhere; the air we breathe, our food, medications we take, hair and body products, as well as the water we drink. Toxins cause irritation, harm and destruction in the body over time if left alone.

Detoxification is the body's way of removing and metabolizing these harmful compounds. It is a process the body does naturally without us even knowing it. However, the capacity of the body's detoxification process is not endless.

A detox bath is one of the easiest healing therapies we can do to facilitate our body's natural detoxing system that could once operate on its own. A detox bath helps the body to efficiently flush out toxins.

Our toxic load is a consequence of the toxins we are exposed to and our body's capacity to naturally detox. Over time our bodies have not been able to keep up and properly detox on its own. The more toxins we are exposed to, the harder the body has to work at eliminating these toxins.

The list of toxins that could potentially harm our bodies is almost endless;

For example many start or end their day with a hot shower, the water is contaminated with pollutants, the soap and shampoo is full of chemicals, the toothpaste has fluoride, from there we may have meals where the food has been treated with pesticides and is genetically modified. This example is before you even leave your home! Imagine what we come into contact daily out side of our homes.

No need to fear and stay inside, these are things that cannot be avoided. But you can certainly counter the effects by being proactive and taking a simple step weekly or multiple times a week…since you have to bathe anway!

How does it work?

Detox baths are a form of osmosis. In other words, toxins are drawn to the surface of the skin by the hot water from the bath, then cleansed away as the water cools down.

Sweating is a way your body releases toxins from daily life such as heavy metals and alcohol- while making sure your body is not exposed to other harmful elements.

Not only do detox baths cleanse your body of toxins, it also helps with overall regulation of other bodily processes. It can help with:

Body odor

Pain from joints & muscles

Balance PH levels

Sleeping activity

Regulate enzyme activity like, breathing, digestion, organ functions, etc.

Boosting metabolism

Anxiety

Irritability

Stress

Bloating

Strengthening immune system

Hormonal imbalances

Calming the nervous system

Who should not do a Detox?

Pregnant and nursing women

Individuals with impaired kidney function

Individuals with serious skin infections

Individuals prone to fainting

***It is recommended to drink plenty of water before, during and after a detox bath. While in one if you start to shiver, feel dizzy, or faint get out of the bath immediately. As always check with a medical professional to see if a detox bath is right for you.***

It is also important to pay attention to your body the first time you use a bath detox.
